Then they have to work for food stamps. 60 % of Americans are reading and writing at a 6th Grade level this means that they haven't progressed from concrete to abstract thinking. They do not have critical thinking skills. Intergenerational Trauma, poverty and illiteracy has a profound impact on the lives of people who have few choices. Both Republicans and Democrats conspired to use Poverty as a Policy Choice and then scapegoated these folks. A living wage where folks can pay rent and buy food for their children would have prevented the rise of Trumpism.
