To think critically you need time and education. 66.2% of Americans can't get $500 together for an emergency. They are working 2-3 jobs, and they still can't buy food for their kids & pay rent. Then they have to "volunteer" to qualifty for food stamps. They don't have time to read the news. They don't have time to consider their options. They read clickbait headlines as they walk past on their way to another job. Poverty as a Policy is what both Democrats & Republicans conspired to use against Americans. A living wage would have prevented the rise of Trump, but doing the bidding of corporations was more important for Republicans and Democrats. 60% of Americans are reading & writing at a 6th Grade level. 1 in 3 of these are reading and writing at an eight year old level. This means that they haven't progressed from concrete thinking to abstract thinking. Intergenerational poverty, illiteracy and trauma have created a group of Americans that are extremely vulnerable to cults and strong men. If you want Americans to think critically then everyone needs safe and affordable housing with enough food to eat. If you feel like you don't live in a democracy and you can't access the structures of power, then burning tthings down and scapegoating others means at least you are not being scapegoated right now. Someone needs to be punished, even if it is yourself.
