Your comment that the police were intending to shoot them on sight is made up fiction and you are repeating it. It is NOT true.

Are you forgetting that he was charged with armed robbery with Harry Power, and the matter was not proceeded with as Kelly gave up Power. A police sergeant got him a job and gave him money to go home and to get there. He rejected the job, never returned the money and turned to a life of crime all on his own.

  22. The suggestion that there was widespread corruption in Victoria police is just a made up myth. There was discord between 3 very senior ranks, but most police involved in the Kelly era were just doing their job. Here is what the Royal Commissioners said about the suggestion that Kelly was being harassed by police “ It may also be mentioned that the charge of persecution of the family by the members of the police force has been frequently urged in extenuation of the crimes of the outlaws; but, after careful examination, your Commissioners have arrived at the conclusion that the police, in their dealings with the Kelly’s and their relations, were simply desirous of discharging their duty conscientiously; and that no evidence has been adduced to support the allegation that either the outlaws or their friends were subjected to persecution or unnecessary annoyance at the hands of the police.” This video is full of fiction.
