  1. The Mazda 6 is a beautiful car but if you want one you're in a very, very small minority. In the first quarter of 2020 Mazda dealers in the US sold only 4500 vehicles, down 35% compared to 2019 and ranking 18th among midsize sedans (mainstream and luxury). In fact the only mainstream sedan with lower sales was the discontinued Chrysler 200. (Three sales.) Of course COVID-19 has had a significant impact on automotive sales in 2020 but sales of the Mazda 6 in the entire 2019 calendar year were down 30% to 21,000 vehicles compared to the previous year. In short, in terms of sales the current generation of the Mazda 6 is more reasonably considered a collector vehicle than a competitive vehicle. Without a major redesign it's unlikely to survive.
