  1. The term "iconic" is thrown around about a lot of cars. Very few deserve it. The Miata does. It's in a class with the E-type Jaguar, the Austin Healey 3000, the MG, the '55 Chevy Bel Air 2 dr hardtop, and the 1940 Ford coupe. It's the last true British sports car, the vehicles that invented and defined the category. And its headlights don't suddenly go dark on a backroad at midnight. I've driven several but sadly have never owned one. Each time an opportunity came along I needed a vehicle that sat at least two (preferably 3) plus a large dog. But when the kid leaves for college soon and with the dog growing old, I swear I'll check owning a Miata off my bucket list.
