According to the curb weights in the video, the difference is 318 lbs. That's a difference equivalent to an NFL lineman in favor of the Outback. An even more startling comparison is the Outback vs the big brother Subaru Ascent. The XT Outback has the same engine and drive train as the Ascent and a curb weight advantage of over 650 lbs. (!) Unless one really needs a third row of seats, it's difficult to see the advantages of the Ascent. (Except in terms of the number of cup holders where the Ascent leads the pack with 19.) P.S.
