@knightridder2002 Wow! I can understand your attitude given your experience. On the other hand, the last six vehicles I've owned have all had sunroofs and I've never had a problem with a single one.

Lots of fun, guys but hopefully there are some "adult" reviewers who can provide information about the 4Motion system in various vehicles for those who want to, you know, drive rather than drift the cars.

WV will tell you the sunroof deletion is an advantage for track work by reducing weight at the top of the vehicle and increasing headroom for a tall driver wearing a helmet. The more likely reason is that VW didn't wish to invest in the very costly separate US crash test regimen that would be required for a Golf R with a sunroof. VW doesn't offer an eGolf with a sunroof in the US for that reason, as well.

@MrOseetah Sorry. Don't agree. Sunroofs from all manufacturers occasionally develop leaks but I've had two GTI's in the last decade and each was watertight. Sunroofs are a matter of taste and folks living in Arizona or Texas may find them worthless or worse but here in the Pacific Northwest where sightings of the sun in the winter usually rate a mention in the local paper, a sunroof is a welcome addition to an otherwise cave like interior.
