Come on, Yuri. Your manhood will survive a DSG. Personally, over 40+ years of driving I always had at least one manual transmission in the garage. That changed in 2013 when I reluctantly purchased at MK6 GTI with a DSG. When I replaced the GTI with a 2018 version there was no debate. DSG all the way. It has better acceleration than the manual. Shifts faster than any human being. Infinitely better in the stop-n-go traffic around Seattle. And any time I want, I simply put the car in manual mode and drive it like a stick. Best of all, with an APR tune I don't have to replace my clutch annually. Are there downsides? Oh yeah. The DSG adds weight. About the same as a couple of small bags of groceries. But worst of all, I miss the "fun" of manually shifting into first gear when I bring the car to a stop at a traffic signal. The DSG does that for me when I'm in manual mode. God! Do I miss that! :) When I was a kid back in the dark ages power steering was being added to vehicles as an option. I still remember complaints that it made a car too easy for a woman to drive. Real men don't need that s**t. We adjusted.
