Obviously a huge upgrade from the last generation Sedona. Unfortunately, I think the absence of an AWD and a hybrid option will prevent the Carnival from moving out of also ran status in sales among the tiny category of minivans remaining in the marketplace. But for those prepared to forego either of those options (e.g. potential Odyssey buyers) the Carnival should be especially appealing, especially among those prepared to shell out more than $40K for a top trim version.

@take5DD Let me guess you don't live in the Pacific Northwest, the upper midwest, or New England where AWD is "handy (far more often than) 5-6 times out of the year." And yes, "minivans have survived for decades with FWD." But that survival rate amounts to 2% of vehicle sales as SUV's nearly all of which offer AWD have driven minivans off the market.
