@timephire Toyota didn't put an MT in the Supra because it's a performance machine and that would only have made it slower. Honda put an MT in the Civic R and Hyundai in the Veloster N because they're niche vehicles where low volume sales aren't an issue. Honda (and other manufacturers) stuck an MT in a lower trim version of a sedan to earn the goodwill of a tiny minority of buyers and not lose too much money when they're discounted after sitting unsold on dealer lots.

@timephire Trying to apply the logic of selling to the pickup market to other types of vehicles is a fool's errand. Furthermore, Toyota didn't become the largest auto manufacturer in the world by aiming for "collectors" and "minorities."

This is a vehicle designed to draw potential customers to dealer showrooms where they can be upsold to an XSE V6 with more features.
