  1. I'll believe a new generation midsize sedan from Mazda when I see it in dealer showrooms. Unfortunately, Mazda has a well-earned reputation for leaking news or even making formal announcements about forthcoming products that end up being years late in actual production or don't show up at all. Remember the diesel version of the CX-5 that was promised for years and when it finally showed up lasted about six months before being withdrawn from the market? SkyActivX engines for the North American market? Still waiting. Inclusion of a rotary "helper" engine in a new ICE engine configuration? Cancelled. Now there are rumors about Mazda introducing a RWD (and RWD-biased AWD) new midsize sedan with an inline 6 cylinder engine, a market category that multiple automakers have abandoned altogether and the sales of which continue to shrink. I like the Mazda brand; so much so that I've owned four Mazdas over the years. And thankfully the Miata, an iconic vehicle, continues to be produced. But skepticism about Mazda's actual introduction of new products is strongly advised.
