For years Toyota has argued that their strategy of offering hybrids with smaller regenerative batteries (a technology that not coincidentally was a Toyota leader) was a superior way to combat climate change than full fledged EVs. Their argument being that they could build and sell 10 of their hybrids with limited battery capacity for every fully electrified vehicle. Now that they've tossed that argument into the wastebasket will they cease lobbying Congress to eliminate funds to build out the infrastructure for EVs?
