It's not dehumanising. Mocking people for disabilities is offensive and wrong. You cannot go around life bullying people and then saying they're in the wrong for being "fragile."

@molehansman247 mocking people with disabilities.

@molehansman247 No, portraying a character with autism isn't mocking them. Playing a stereotype of an autistic person for laughs IS mocking them.

Ties de Jong Given the amount of people defending the video, it's clearly very important that people do speak out. Mocking those with disabilities is not ok.

@perunalastu77 It's not about "taking a joke." It's that these jokes encourage a stereotyped and dehumanising view of autistic people, who are frequent victims of bullying and abuse.

@ethan7252 No, I don't, but jokes and satire don't exist in a moral vacuum. They have implications and social responsibility just the same as any other form of media. We don't accept blackface "jokes" any more, and we shouldn't accept this.

@ethan7252 The issue is that, while one can opt out of viewing certain media, one cannot opt out of living in a society which is influenced by that media. This is why "if you don't like blackface, just don't watch it" doesn't work as an argument.

@calamitysangfroid2407 "when Michael is showing traits that are associated with autism that's not the joke" - yes it is. That's why there's laughter immediately after.
