I go to the old media. No shortage of entertaining Arnold Schwarzenegger 80's and 90's movies. None of the new stuff has me feeling better.

This 100%.

@Paulie44 Not just AI generated playlists, actual AI generated songs that are just garbage. I have a 90's playlist, and it feels utter refreshing compared to the sludge modern music devices give me.

It's why everything is going downhill.

In the past, I would get ads on YouTube from Doritos, beverage products like Mountain Dew, some deal that a retailer is selling me on Black Friday. Nothing more, nothing less. Now I get ads from Millennial/Gen Z aged people trying to sell me a smartphone app which is meant to scam people out of their money. Why should I care what some random nobody thinks about an app? Either give me food products that will sell on their own, or stop with the ads altogether.

Cuties was the last straw. After I watched that garbage, I canceled the service for good.

Read actual, physical books. Grab hold of some older books too. Buy furniture at your local stores. Go to your local farmers market. Buy organic.
2
Watch old stuff from 2006 - 2012. You'd swear it was from another planet.

You have to dig to find independent websites and services. You should make the title "Why Big Internet Corporations Suck Now".
1
Games suck now too. PS5 has been a big disappointment. Xbox Series X has no great games that are exclusive to the Xbox brand, why even have one when there's PC? Nintendo is maybe alright but you're spending loads of money for exclusives that won't drop in price.

It should of stuck with renting DVDs.

The old internet was a series of islands that weren't connected to one another. Our centralized network is what got us this garbage modern internet to begin with.

100%

What do you do with places that have gone cashless?
1
I see you here from Jody Bruchon's channel.

All of it is garbage. This is why I'm leaving the West.

Try 20.

@eafortson People were expected to be self sufficient. It’s the difference between Baby Boomers who were having families in the 1970’s and 1980’s, and Gen Z who is stuck working two full time jobs while ideology kills them from within.
1
@-haclong2366 Worse than what TV was in the 2000’s/2010’s.
1
AOL was child's play compared to what we're seeing now.
1
I miss home videos from circa 2007 - 2010 in 240p quality. At least they were real.
1
Cat videos are so 2006.

@davids.9834 I've had horrible food I made because the AI actually forget vital steps to cook the food properly. Yes, it actually happens.

@ratpatrol69 A couple years ago I was helping a college kid do research on Yosemite National Park in California. Did a search and all I got was travel websites. Virtually nothing about the history of the park, what John Muir did, nothing. Finally used an obscure search engine after much frustration and I ended up on a website from the early 2000’s that was clearly coded on HTML/CSS. It was a treasure trove of information. So after properly sourcing that website, I told this kid to just rent a couple books from the library on Yosemite. Google was absolutely useless in giving us any real information.

Same with a certain antivirus before the US government decided it was too dangerous and outright removed it from millions of computers.

Society was better when the internet was niche.
1
It's the only good internet at this point.

It was better when nerds ran the internet. I get it, you're probably older than this British dude and you got the experience to back it up. You didn't know the internet back in the late 1980's unless you either knew some people who worked in tech or you were around some nerds who wanted to experiment. Tim Berners Lee didn't officially create the World Wide Web until 1989. So what do you do? I decided I will be moving out of the West, and start a new life somewhere else. The West is finished.
1
It was fine back in the 90's, because back then it didn't infiltrate the lives of every normal person.
1
You're forgetting smartphones.
1
This stuff has existed for decades. Did you not watch the video?

@brx8r There are certain websites that I use Archive for.

It's communism masquerading as capitalism. The free market capitalist system Baby Boomers grew up with is dead.
