What more did you expect when they were told as kids to work for a liberal arts college degree and work for some faceless, monolithic corporation? They were never given enough room to breathe in the first place. That’s why they are nihilistic, suicidal, unpredictable and angry because they were tossed to the side in their youth. As a Millennial who is autistic who was a computer nerd and antisocial, I was labeled an outcast. Looking back, part of that was my insecurities and inability to know my own identity as a child. Nowadays the poles have switched. When I was a socially awkward high functioning autistic child, people went outside more and talked. Today I’m much better at interpersonal communication and can hold my own, while society has decided to shut itself inside bedrooms and living rooms mindlessly playing video games and live-streaming Amazon Prime.

American schools starting pushing out self esteem crap to the kids back in the 80’s and 90’s. In California, schools are constantly ranked near the bottom across the board in the United States. They don’t teach kids anything that is going to actually prove useful later in life. Back when I was attending school down there, we had students regularly drop out (highschool), some of them had gang affiliations, they were passive aggressive, and they had no real future. California was already creating problems for kids back then during the late 80’s and 90’s when I was going to school and from what I hear, it’s now much worse. Millennials were greatly affected, but so were the Gen Xers that preceded them years earlier.

@atropiaveteran The John Wayne style has been dead for quite a long time. A few years back the city of Orange, California tried to change the name of John Wayne Airport or something else. Because some leftists discovered an old article of John Wayne dating back to a 1971 Playboy magazine where he made comments on blacks and Indians. No my only are the morals and values of John Wayne offensive to these people, they don’t want to acknowledge he did anything good in his life.

It’s far too late to return to 1950’s/1960’s tradition. Women are too brainwashed and self centered to become a ‘June Clever’, who was an ideal 1950’s Hollywood representation of the stay at home housewife.

@williambranch4283 Straight Outta Compton is a very famous rap song by the rap group NWA, I won’t bother to list their full name and you can easily look them up on Wikipedia. Their song and album with the aforementioned title released in the late 80’s. According to older people I’ve talked to, Los Angeles and the adjacent South Central area were already pretty bad by then.
