  1. My grandparents had kitchen appliances dating way back to the 1950s and 1960s. All of them still worked fine when I was young in the early 1990’s, which was decades later. A refrigerator that I bought brand new for thousands of dollars in 2017 has already had multiple problems. From shelves breaking to the ice machine not working, I’ve had to pay hundreds to maintain it. Pretty soon it’ll just be better to buy a new one. Things are no longer made to last.
