@greatclubsandwich5612 It's like comparing Betty White to some of the young models of today. I'm actually convinced many of the people running the model business of today are homosexual, which is why a lot of young girls I see in some of these model shoots look awful.

@cornbreadisbetterthanpizza6866 I went to San Francisco last year with friends and many of their buildings now look awful. Since you're familiar with old television shows and movies you probably feel the same way about it also.

@eliseosterbrink8000 It sounds like your teacher is an authoritarian. Somehow we have gone from expressing art to expressing a communist viewpoint. Having massive glass windows from floor to ceiling eliminates privacy. Here in the United States we are drifting more towards what the Soviet Union adopted back in the 1960’s - 1980’s. These people need to understand the dangers of communism and how Big Brother is extremely harmful. But they won’t. Those who forget about history are doomed to repeat it. I’ve noticed a significant number of women young to middle aged who are seemingly ignorant of what came before them. If they know what came before them, they are utterly hateful of it. The Lotus Eaters perfectly nailed this video. What’s happening to architecture in the West is the same as what’s happened with Lord of the Rings. Take what came from the past (JRR Tolkien), twist the past, twist the narrative and the context, and apply a new form of ideology on it. It’s how the modern progressive works. Anyone who has been to New York City, Chicago. Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland Oregon and Seattle these past few years can see the damage they have wrought. Charge people ridiculous amounts of money for rent, but kick them out and have them become homeless because most can’t afford to pay. All the new buildings in all of these cities I mentioned are ugly. Seems to be a trend in any area that is controlled by the Left.

@eliseosterbrink8000 Great observation and comment. I agree with you. I have noticed this behavior in metropolitan areas, especially in California. New York I hear is no better. The buildings that Lotus Eaters were looking at in this video are just awful. Absolutely insane that one man wanted to replace the Eiffel Tower and the rest of the historic buildings in Paris with these surveillance like towers.

Architects don’t like it when others make buildings that are more pleasing to the eye and more attractive to live in. This has been proven countless times. I had an architect student tell me his instructor forced him to come up with designs that are like the current brutalist style we see all over the West.
