@jishani1 The 80s were better. The 1970s had too much nihilism going on in terms of the dialogue of the scripts. Everybody knows Jaws, Alien and Star Wars are legendary films that should be celebrated, but there were literally a ton of awful films from this decade. I won't forget Bruce Lee's final movie, the Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry movies or Death Wish with Charles Bronson. All great films. But the 1970s, while it had some good spots, had a lot of mediocre to bad films.

I would argue the 1970s was the peak for American television too.

The early 2000’s was a better period.

The stuff LA makes now is trash. The days of feel good 80s/90s films and Arnold Schwarzenegger style action films are gone. What these leftists make is nothing short of sniffing their own trash.

Don’t mention the 2023 Indiana Jones movie, that is a travesty on its own. But yes. 1970s - 1990s was peak cinema and TV. I’m watching the old Muppet Show and it is easily 100 times better than anything coming out today.

@ryanoneill3192 Early 2000’s. We still had garbage like the Amanda Show, That’s So Raven and other kid shows, which can’t compare to old classics like The Muppet Show or Mister Rogers Neighborhood. I want to say Bill Nye the Science Guy, but after people learned he wasn’t a real scientist and decided to go all political, I lost all respect for him. Early 2000’s was peak for adult TV entertainment. The problem with past decades was TV had to cater to family due to strict censorship guidelines. If you wanted adult screen entertainment you had to visit the movie theaters.
