If you’re a Millennial, then you know you got lied to back in the 2000’s. Most college degrees are worth no more than the piece of paper they’re printed on. Most hiring managers look for experience, which is not something the average university will hand out to you.

I already had this mindset by the late 2000’s. Seems everything is working in the elites favor.

@mikeylitchfield4651 The guy who made the comment was literally just starting grade school in the early 2000’s. From the Tech Bubble bursting to 9/11 and the following war in Iraq, Millennials didn’t stand much of a chance. The 2007 Housing Crisis and 2008 Financial Crash poured more salt onto the wound.

@latt.qcd9221 It’s expected. Divorce settlements are highly in favor of women, men are the ones who get shafted.

LA is too expensive. Not that I’d live there anyway. It’s a dystopia, with the homeless population and the infamous Skid Row growing by the day.

@JesusFriedChrist I worked at a Dollar Tree warehouse for three years. Did 60 hour weeks. Worked to the bone. This warehouse had no automation. Shrink wrapping had to be done on hand. Wrapping orders on pallets stuck on two forks of a pallet jack, which was dangerous. Benefits were going away in the time I worked there. I saw two general managers leave. HR woman fired people left and right, knew nothing about logistics. I was considered one of the best workers. That meant…. you guessed it, more work piled on me. Going the extra effort just gives the managers an excuse to pile on more work. No actual reward. Write ups last an entire year before they expire. I had one in September after getting sick and using a doctors note. Happened again in February. Finally got my third and final write up in June over clocking in 2 - 5 minutes late three times in one week. That write up from September was still in effect. Was fired, got shown paperwork I signed years ago, and got sent out the door by a couple grumpy looking managers. It was a thankless job, and sadly, a majority of jobs are just as brutal as my job at Dollar Tree.

@captainz9 You were lucky. You were there at the right place at the right time. People who were lucky enough to work at Microsoft and at Silicon Valley back in the 1980’s had it made. The tech boom was off by a good 10 years (1994 - 1996 was the time when the boom really took over) but anyone experienced in IT during that era made good money. Now in 2023, working in IT is hardly any better than living paycheck to paycheck. Big tech overreach has ruined IT. Instead of visionaries and people with passion, you have drones working under faceless corporations who only want power.

@mikeylitchfield4651 That’s because the 1960’s was a time of prosperity in terms of economics. Boomers were pampered from day one. They had Greatest/Silent generation parents nurturing them. They grew up watching black and white television with wholesome shows like I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith and Leave it to Beaver. They practically had everything laid to them by the time they entered the workforce in the 60’s and 70’s. Zoomers, in contrast, grew up exposed to porn on the internet and watching degrading reality TV shows on stations like MTV. They were exposed to prank videos and blowing stuff up in backyards on YouTube when they were kids. Now as adults 15 years later, they’re literally finishing university at negative self worth. Not only do they not stand a chance, their sense of reality and sense of good values is all messed up. The average Zoomer does not support capitalism or supply & demand. They rather just tear down everything that people like MLK Jr found tooth and nail to accomplish.

Wise words.

@esperago Vancouver BC is terrible now. This is good advice for 20 something year olds too.
2
@paleface171 Fossils who are growing older, more powerful and more morally corrupt.

Hopefully you won’t be around to see war.

@mirceazaharia2094 Good times create weak men, who are the Boomers.

35 years ago was the 1980’s. If you lived paycheck to paycheck back then you were doing something wrong.

@TwoPlusTwoEqualsFive32 It’s pretty apparent that dating is a joke just looking at apps like Instagram and TikTok. Both platforms heavily cater to young women. And you know what? They get all the good deals and offers. The average ugly straight male is lucky to get a small handful of friends on apps like Instagram. The talentless but attractive young women that plays up all the trends gets all the money and attention.

@1685Violin Doesn’t surprise me, they’re stuck in the 1960’s - 1990s after all.

@williambranch4283 There won’t be another “greatest generation” until we truly learn to fight and defend ourselves. Right now, I see a generation that is prone to violence, lacks critical thinking, and spends most of their time playing video games in mom’s basement.

@raumograeywolf5477 Klaus is in his 80’s. His sell by date is already apparent.
1
@aerfwefd7334 Klaus, Bill Gates and the rest of them all need to go.

@JesusFriedChrist Falling Down (1993) is a great movie. More people need to watch it.

@TheMohawkNinja I figured Delaware is one of the more expensive states. Seems the entire New England region has housing that is out of reach for the average family. Not much different than the state of California where housing is far too expensive.

@phillipgrubb2443 Construction is best for kids out of highschool. Someone in their late 30’s is already too old for that work due to the physical strains that field demands. If you wasted time in schooling as a Millennial and your body can’t keep up with the Zoomer kids who just left highschool, you are also screwed.

@dumkopf You better know how to be self sufficient and know to survive in the country/wilderness. This is a good time for you to learn how the Amish are, and how important it is to be in communities.

The Boomers did not create that manufacturing, employment and consumer boom. That was the Greatest Generations doing. Boomers just had all that stuff laid out for them.
1
@Rill Social Security is nothing to anyone who is younger than a Baby Boomer. They’re taking everything that’s left in that system.
1
@peteschaub7561 This is easier said than done in the United States. Investment firms got their hands on nearly every stake. People like Bill Gates are making it harder to be self sufficient and own any home at all. It’s better to move to another country that hasn’t been affected by the western ideologies. I’m working right now to move out.

They were young back in 1970. They embraced the Hippie Movement, they drove fast, they were reckless, they engaged in unhealthy sex, they disregarded their parents wishes, and yet they still managed to grasp the best society had to offer. Zoomers in contrast are trying to save, but are getting screwed on all fronts.

@mymangodfrey At this rate even Guatemala looks better. Costa Rica is decent if you can make the journey.

The trades people were right.

@mirceazaharia2094 Funny you have to say it this way because YouTube removes comments mentioning his actual name.
