You can make the same argument for Full House, Seinfeld and Frazier. All sitcoms containing an all white main cast. Can’t have that today. Seinfeld gets my respect alone for calling these people out.

Most conservatives and Republicans won't do college campuses either. It's not just comedians.

Nothing today comes close to Seinfeld. It’s one of the greatest sitcoms ever.
5
The decline started in the 90's and the 2000's. Most of us didn't see it yet because it was subtle.
5
Truth.
4
Imagine if Carol Burnett or Joan Rivers were to try to get into comedy today. They wouldn't last a week in today's cancel culture.

@elizabethhamilton9408 You’re Gen X so you still have 80’s memorabilia. Certainly better than what we have now.
3
@notoriousLSGshow That scene couldn’t be allowed today. The entire film takes place in the 1960’s, but someone would just say there’s too many white people in it. Really depressing what has happened to our western entertainment.
3
What's the point? Those shows are done and done. Tearing apart Archie Bunker and Carroll O'Connor is really just spitting on his grave to be honest. Just enjoy the comedy and the character for what it was.
2
@elizabethhamilton9408 You look pretty good and young to be 45….
2
@cashflowhustles All of them oldies, but I caught them all on Nick at Nite and TV Land back in the 90’s.
2
@dm6187 I'm glad to hear someone younger shares the same opinion as me.
2
@eastcoasttemple2151 Gen X makes Millennials and Gen Z look weak.
2
@Particle_Ghost Japan is the only one keeping the video game industry afloat.

@Particle_Ghost Yes. Gone With the Wind with Clark Gable, and The Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland respectively. Hollywood's Golden Age actually ended in the late 1940's. In the 1950's Americans were treated to a bunch of B movie horror and sci-fi that was subpar. The 1960's was the last decade for Old Hollywood. The 1970's marked the beginning of the blockbuster, starting with Jaws and the original Star Wars movie. The 1980's and 1990's was the last time Hollywood was good, but costs exploded and therefore films had to be more grandiose. For contemporary times, these decades were the peak of society. Today we live in the post modern age, and it's a complete garbage fire.
2
@Particle_Ghost The last Hollywood American movie I watched was Top Gun Maverick with Tom Cruise. Haven’t seen Oppenheimer. I refuse to watch Barbie. That’s pretty much it. It’s done as a movie industry, and arguably its existence. Really sad, considering I grew up on 70s - 90s Hollywood stuff via reruns. Streaming services are a hotbed which explains why shows and movies are added and removed all the time.
2
@Particle_Ghost The Fallout series insults the fans who loved Fallout 1 + 2 and New Vegas. Shady Sands is apparently in the Boneyard. The writing and dialogue are mediocre.
2
@Particle_Ghost Yes, Synthetic Man. So I have seen you before.
2
It was Steve Urkel who got Family Matters really going. None of us 90's kids were racist back then. We didn't see Carl in a different light, we just saw him as a dad. Sad what's happened to our country over the past 15 years or so.
2
Being complacent is what got us here in the first place.
2
@matiazc1 We allowed leftists to gain power and determine how we should live our lives.
2
@matiazc1 I consider Jerry here a Democrat. He always has. But he’s got more sense than a lot of modern day Democrats.
2
@MK-mj9gx I only watch modern stuff from Korea or Japan. Most American stuff I see is all old stuff like Seinfeld and Home Improvement.
2
Canada is in full authoritarian mode.
1
B grade? More like D grade if you ask me.
1
Authoritarianism = End of Free Speech
1
@UnaPotata George Carlin. Robin Williams. Sam Kinison. Sad what's happened over the past few years.
1
@ryproar11 We all know conservatives will fight tooth and nail to not let America become CCP.

Jay Leno did stand up comedy decades before Johnny Carson left when he took his place. Leno was good for the most part, making punch lines about the issues of the times, giving his guests room to breathe, and interviewing dumb people on the streets of LA. Didn't like Jay Leno's Garage, it had too much of the reality show nonsense attached to it. Daily Show is garbage and so are sitcoms now.
1
Groucho would fall over if he saw what America is today. One of the all time greats.
1
@mickk8519 Let me guess. The Cold War forced you 1970’s kids and teenagers to conduct nuclear drills in the classrooms.
1
@sammythompson3694 That’s because the cities are creating all this garbage. Small towns don’t have the money and resources to generate hate politics on average.
1
@Particle_Ghost I'm not exactly sure where you're getting your info from considering that the 1970's was considered a 'low' point in Hollywood, because a lot of people weren't going to the theaters. If you're going to discuss TV shows from Hollywood like All in the Family and Sanford & Son then that really doesn't count since those were viewed at home. All you needed was a dial TV set and a good reception signal. Today the theaters are empty, and the movies aren't selling.
1
@RJDA.Dakota Nothing can ever replace Johnny Carson, but sadly I was born far too late and I only know him through old clips that have been archived. Tubi is mostly a place for old stuff. Quality is good overall although some old shows have poor film, and others have a bunch of missing episodes.
1
@Particle_Ghost Al Bundy is too politically incorrect for today's social climate.
1
@metoo7557 Society used to be the other way around.
1
@Particle_Ghost This is where physical wins over digital. You own the DVDs. Amazon Prime, Tubi, Hulu are obligated to remove shows and movies at any time which makes them unreliable over the long term. Once Netflix took off Good Morning Vietnam with Robin Williams a long while back, that's when I knew that physical media is important.
1
@Particle_Ghost I’m pretty sure I talked to you before. Do you comment on other conservative channels here on YT?
1
@Particle_Ghost I heard Obsidian is incredibly woke now, but being in California that is a given.
1
Same.
1
@cleopatra1633 Early National Geographic documentaries were great. But like so much else, National Geographic now ain't worth your time.
1
@cleopatra1633 Books are written by people. You're thinking about motivational speakers, political commentators and the like.
1
This is all true. The difference was back then, these comedians and shows faded away into obscurity. Today's horrific acts are protected by DEI and ESG funding. I suggest you look these things up.
1
All I know is I hate these fringe individuals.
1
@DemsAreDestroyingAmerica I take it that’s you in the avatar?
1
@notoriousLSGshow Are you talking about Full Metal Jacket or Blazing Saddles?
1
@matiazc1 I don’t need to answer this one.
1
Rich Little was actually good back in his day. This guy is pathetic, none of his jokes are funny.
1
Friday was really good.

Matt here is probably too young to remember a lot of them. I think he will get a bigger appreciation of Don Rickles if he had a chance to listen to his comedy. His insult comedy on the old vintage Dean Martin roasts could never be done again. Many people also don't know that Don Rickles himself was the voice of Potato Head in Toy Story, so for the 90's kids out there, he played a part in entertaining them.
