  1. People also look at Leave it To Beaver, I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, Father Knows Best and Life of Riley and think that was the reality, when it wasn’t. All were filmed in front of sets and live audiences. Actual 1950’s women did not resemble June Clever, if they did it was rare. Studio makeup did wonders, watch videos on Old Hollywood. If you want actual 1950’s footage then look up old newsreels. It wasn’t nearly as pleasant and wonderful as people think it was.

  2.  @driversuz44  And none of it was glamorous. People watched an old Marilyn Monroe movie and thought housewives were model material who were also good at their jobs. Not true at all. If you want real women from this generation then watch an old 1960’s documentary on people who were living in the Appalachian Mountains at the time. They had no dial TV sets, some didn’t even have radio. No washing machines, no dishwashers. They did brutal house work. Surviving news reels of the 50’s and 60’s are also good. Women were more rugged and not at all what you saw in the media.

  5.  @jt1559  He’s doing it because he has hundreds of thousands of subscribers. I’m almost 40. I never dated, and never will. It’s just amusing to see you older guys complain about women and men when the decline started much earlier. 90% of you guys are here because a woman used you, said you were worthless, took your assets and ran. Divorce courts are entirely stacked against men.

  6.  @AS-kw5hd  The reason people have a warped sense of reality is because they watched Leave it To Beaver and other sappy ‘50s television. The real ‘50s was gritty. People smoked like chimneys, drank like fish, drove more recklessly, developed health problems in their 40s/50s, and burned all of their trash in the backyard.

  7. The women who do this are fake. They are still more arrogant, narcissistic and sinister than June Clever ever was. 1950’s women saw the Depression and WW2, and valued humility and gratitude. Women in 2024 never experienced this, and at best, this trend is revisionist garbage that is meant to present a warped view of reality.

  9. The only older generation of women still prominent are the Boomers. The Silent generation is quickly dying off. Part of the problem here is young women were brought up with Boomer narratives, so the decline will continue.

  10. The 1920’s was the Prohibition. Women were flappers. The Mafia ran the gamut in many American cities. Bootlegging was commonplace. Do you care to explain why 1900s/1910s America was better off?
