Comments by "Im Caj" (@KratostheThird) on "Ronald Reagan Killed the American Dream" video.
I only just discovered this video. While this man who commented on it has probably long moved on to other videos and things, I have realized that my future as a Millennial (1981 - 1996) was already pulled out from under me before I was even born. You just have to take a look at your local town. How many Walmarts are there? How many McDonalds are there? How many Home Depots are there? My small town is only 10,000 - 12,000 people. Barely a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of America. But I have watched so many small businesses and stores close, only for giant corporations to move in. COVID-19 has only forced more smaller businesses to close up shop. While Walmart is raking in more money than they ever have before. My solution? To move out of America. I’d rather start a new business elsewhere, than watch a once great country collapse where young people under 40 are struggling to even have basic necessities. Ronald Reagan from what I heard from older people wasn’t great as a politician in California either. Yet he was a Hollywood actor who starred in mostly low budget, forgettable film flicks. Thank you for speaking out on something that most people fail to address and understand.

Nobody in my generation can get this. We’re lucky to work two jobs while we realize we can never move forward add we’re practically slaves.

@euphoniacarstairs2955 Because Ronald Reagan was a comic and an entertainer, even when he was making his speeches long after he moved on from Hollywood. That’s probably why people still love him.

Starting all the way back to the 1960s.

I can see why the Hip Hop music genre broke thru during the Reagan administration. Groups like Public Enemy, NWA and eventually rappers like Tupac Shakur. All of them who got their start during the Ronald Reagan era.

So they’ve been at it since 1983?

Ronald Reagan had an assassination attempt on him in the early 1980s. I wonder where America would be today if that were successful.

@MrMarinus18 Because for many people it’s more comfortable to indulge in fantasy than it is to deal with reality.

@jakehageman4852 That’s what Baby Boomers like to tell me. Turns out, they are right.

At this point, as a Millennial in his late 30s, I’m happy to just move somewhere in Asia and Africa to spend a number of years learning their culture and their heritage. Millennials and Zoomers are beyond saving at this point. Our only hope, apart from leaving the country, is for America to experience total collapse, so we can rebuild. That is the only real way I find myself ever getting out of this mess.

Now it’s all made in China. No care, no quality, no passion. Just heavily manufactured and marketed to the masses here.

He certainly gave the farmers the middle finger.

@Zetro999 He doesn’t have all those billions of dollars of his for nothing.
