The Little Mermaid was a Disney animated film that people now credit as helping the cartoon renaissance of the 1990s, early 2000s. I'm 35, soon to be 36 years old. Definitely much younger than you are, but I have felt the decline for quite some time now and it is just disgusting what Disney puts in their movies now. Forced diversity is practically a thing now, regardless of whether or not it makes sense. Unfortunately it's not only the "Boy Scouts of America", it's also the United States Military. The Go Army advertisement last year told me everything I needed to know about forced diversity.

  9. Because it's nostalgia. People are wearing rose tinted goggles and think the 1980s/1990s were all fun and games. The LA Riots of 1992, the OJ Simpson Trial in 1994 - 1995, the Oklahoma City Bombing in 1995, murder rate spiking in the early 1990s, etc. Earth was ALWAYS a "crazy world". All these Millennials were just kids when these events happened. So of course they're going to look back at these times with nostalgia.

  15. The American movie industry has been declining since the 1990s at least. Both Alien: Covenant and The Predator were dominated by morons. Millennials (1981 - 1996) who are man childs and whom grew up in a time of broken homes and extreme satire. You saw the shit in this very YouTube video we're commenting on. These are the types of people making movies now. So it's no surprise that The Predator was a complete crap show. I rewatched a portion of the old Star Trek (1960s) television and all the Star Wars Trilogy (1977 - 1983) not too long ago. It was really amazing what those filmmakers and television crew were able to produce back then, with far more primitive technology at their disposal. Nowadays our technology is a thousand times more powerful, but innovation and creativity are at an all time low. These modern filmmakers don't know how to make good films. Hollywood is complete trash now. Full of social rejects, Soy Boy Men, and trend chasing morons who try to cash in on the hottest new thing. Martin Scorsese was right. These superhero movies are not cinema. They're piles of trash that were already audience tested, tasted and sniffed for consumption.

  17.  @Janko1972  Oh I'm definitely not disliking on Daniel Craig, I just feel the new James Bond movies lack the appeal and charm of the older ones. Sean Connery to me was awesome. Loved him in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), he definitely earned a place as a memorable movie actor in cinema history. James Bond is probably the longest running movie franchise, but after Goldeneye in the mid 1990s I stopped caring about the newer movies. Found them all too childish with mediocre plot lines.

  20.  @LocaBaybeex  We don't need exactly need people like Hulk Hogan or Arnold Schwarzenegger..... or women like Pamela Anderson or Marilyn Monroe. Those are two different extremes that appealed strongly to the opposite sex. But we need people who are proud to show their motherly and masculine roles. You're speaking of something that was far more commonplace in early - mid 20th century America. Stay at home mothers who were also sometimes housewives. They took responsibility of the home and the cooking and looking after the children while the man was away at work earning the family income. The problem is men aren't allowed to be masculine anymore. Women aren't allowed to look too attractive or motherly anymore. I named those four celebrities as an example of two extremes, but our modern society isn't having any of that. Our society doesn't produce that kind of masculinity and attractiveness, at least not in the mainstream. In this super woke society we are seeing transgenders going mainstream now. We have transgender men and women competing in sports and presenting a great disadvantage to anybody who isn't transgender. We value a materialistic lifestyle and we spend our time idolizing ourselves on Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. It's all shallow, impatient and selfish, and we basically let ourselves fall into the rabbit hole.

  23. This is why the World War II generation, the 'Greatest' generation, the 'Frank Sinatra' generation, will always be morally superior to the generations that came after it. There is absolutely no way the US Military has anywhere near the passion and dedication the US Military did during World War II. If you think about it, you can argue that the 1960s, which brought diversity and divided people, was the beginning of the decline.

I'm not trying to bash any of the people who go there who are truly passionate for stuff like that, but it has gotten to such extremes we have people well in their 20s and 30s dressing up as their favorite comic book character. And they take that shit seriously. The people who dress up as Anime characters like the ones from Final Fantasy are even worse.

  27. So you're basically saying Scorsese has done nothing noteworthy in his life besides Casino, which had strong acting from the likes of Robert de Niro and Joe Pesci. You didn't even bother to mention The Goodfellas, which is in my opinion one of the truly great mobster films. If Scorsese's work and style doesn't suit your tastes, that's perfectly fine. I'm not the biggest fan of him either and I think some of his later films have basically "missed the mark". But to come out and claim that these Marvel movies are better than anything Scorsese could make if he tried to make a PG-13 film is just pathetic. That's like saying Spike Lee couldn't make a PG or PG-13 movie. Quentin Tarantino should try to make a film with less violence and cussing. He's made his share of bad films with a R rating. You Marvel fanboys and fans can't accept fucking criticism. Scorsese probably isn't a fan of Marvel movies, and I don't think he ever was. Why should that matter to you?

Those are two entirely different scenarios. You might as well start comparing apples to oranges. Violence, sex, crime and drugs have been a part of movies for least 50 years. I'm saying 50 years because that was when the restrictions and censors were truly off. Pulp Fiction is in my top 10 films of all time. Tons of cursing, violence, sex and crime. None of that detracts from the film. Quentin Tarantino did a great job with the movie. But no. Let's take The Wolf of Wall Street, that I saw as highly overrated, and bash it because it has sex, crime, violence and usage of the word 'FUCK' every few sentences instead of criticizing the casting, script and storyline. Was The Sopranos too violent for you? You're a Marvel fanboy. And yes, I fully understand why it appeals to a lot of kids. I was one of those kids growing up. But you're so closed minded you refuse to go beyond the Marvel universe. And don't get me started on stupid "DC is better than Marvel", "Marvel is better than DC" arguments. You are both in the same melting pot. You are both equal and run parallel.

  31.  @lyuuy1520  Anime wasn't really a thing in the West until the mid - late 1980s/early 1990s. Back then it was rather niche and only a few people were really aware of it. Since Dragonball Z took off in around 1996 here in the United States, Anime was continually impressed a lot of people, myself included. And it was right at this time when western cartoons took a nosedive.
