@markomus1 Any luck?

@davidhunternyc1 Old Yankee Stadium was better. But Steinbrenner was roping in all the talent that was established elsewhere. Roger Clemens, A Rod, Jason Giambi, Gary Sheffield all established their All Star talent years before George gave them big enough salaries to sign. It’s a city for the super rich. Every one else pays the price.

@Stick0413 Other Democrat run cities implement this same tactic. I knew small business owners in California who were bullied by multiple agencies, and were then threatened by either summons or people giving the go ahead to close store. Meanwhile giant corporations like Walmart continue to pop up and essentially put mom & pop stores out of business. It’s all a racket and Louis here wasn’t willing to play along. Thankfully he moved to Texas.
1
They won’t understand because they don’t care about small businesses. They’re why it’s a waste of time to start a small business in California. Too much red tape, bureaucracy and interfering, plus all the policies that go with just having a business at all there.
1
He also went Republican. If Cali politicians weren’t so corrupt and morally bankrupt, Elon may still have his company there.
1
@smith2354 So, have you moved to a different place?
1
@SuperAWaC As history books state, big tech happened in the 1980’s. Outside of LA and SF, most places in California were Republican/Conservative, including Orange County. Things got so bad that it was decided that leftists try to rename John Wayne Airport into something else, based on a half century old interview the actor did on a magazine. So what’s this have to do with politics? Because John Wayne was a staunch Conservative, and they really aren’t welcome in California anymore. It’s a one party state and everything beautiful it might have left is being destroyed by the Democrats.
1
They made the same rule in California. Some genius decided that items under a certain value ($1000) isn’t actually stealing. SF is now full of stores with items like shampoo, hair gel, soap, vitamins, etc. all locked behind chain and padlock. Why? Because too many people were stealing these items, and the stores weren’t making any money.

NYC is the most populous city, and is a hotbed for criminals, corrupt politicians and everything else. We can study 1920’s New York and see it was corrupt much like we can see New York today. Go south and start a small business in the Carolinas or Texas. People there tend to be more laid back and conservative, relying on tried and true values to live quiet lives. The progressives in NYC are all part of the system. Corrupt, evil, and paid to lie.
1
100% truth.
1
When Rudy was Mayor, NYC looked far more appealing.
1
@Drcats69 Avoid Portland. It’s a cesspool of homeless, crazy addicts, and corrupt city officials.
1
@jakedewald This has been going on for decades. The reason it didn’t seem that way back in the 80s and 90s, was because we had a better quality of life. Look up charts of billionaires today in 2024 and compare them to the ones in 1994. Also compare our $35+ trillion of debt today compared to $4 - 6 trillion of debt in 1994. Even when adjusted for inflation, it’s not even close. Something has to give. New York, LA, Chicago will all collapse at some point.
1
@just-a-sec7037 The 90’s was when the government started to expand rapidly. This also marked the time when big business mergers began happening at a more frequent rate. In 1983, dozens of companies ultimately had 90 percent of the media in America. By 2012, only six corporations controlled 90 percent. Today, that number is even less. You don’t think this is about power and control? It absolutely is. Washington DC is completely corrupt. I even hear the streets there have addicts, homeless and it’s not safe to walk the streets.
1
It’s scummy, but it’s what I’ve been saying for years. Everything falls on normal people, and they are the ones paying for it all.
1
You could show us the sights, the best restaurants, and maybe tell us some history.
1
@arturwittensoeltner8729 The Five Families still exist in NYC. Let’s not forget other corrupt cities like Chicago.
1
Do you repair touchscreens?
1
I would like to visit NC. See Charlotte and the coast.
1
@robertkelly6282 Not even Indiana?
1
Elvis Presley painting. 😊

Gentrification has hit upstate NY. The West Coast is too liberal. Idaho and Montana may be alright if you are a Red conservative that just wants to be left alone, but the winter weather is brutal. Colorado is scenic, but Democrats ruined that state. Not too many places left for sane people who don’t have a lot of money. At least Utah has Mormons, and while religious, they aren’t half as crazy as many leftists are.
1
@spooderdoggy Reagan himself would be appalled if he saw California today.
1
@dman1797 Progressives is just code for “we don’t like America”.
1
Same with the West Coast.
1
You just described every Democrat run metropolis in one statement.
1
I typically hear the public school system is awful in New York.
1
2K a month is a great deal. Sadly your comment is three years old.
1
It was amazing that Rudy actually made NYC a more appealing place when he was Mayor.
1
Spokane is also more conservative than Seattle. Washington is a Democrat state but the power runs from Olympia up to Seattle.
1
@dodgeplow NYC is ridiculous. Shame to see a once good city put to ruin.
1
@colorfulcodes Then there are places like Buffalo which get cold winters.
1
Dallas isn’t as Blue either.
1
Avoid the cities on the West Coast.
1
A brief history of the Thirteen Colonies and the Revolutionary War of the 18th century will tell you this.
1
You can make the same argument for California. The Midwest, Texas, Tennessee and the Carolinas are all places that value the small business owner. And before you ask, I have been to all places.
1
@speokeosai Democrats making garbage policies is no accident. It’s because the became the party of elites, controlled by the deep state.
1
They already did this to Colorado.
1
LA is still bad.
1
@bobbobbinson1841 Because it was.
1
I respect the Italians.
1
Add Seattle, Los Angeles, Detroit, St Louis and Cleveland to that list.
1
I feel the same way. I used to visit SF, and I saw old photos of the city at a museum. It was absolutely beautiful. Sad that it’s now ugly, and crime is rampant.
1
Stay in California also applies here.
1
Boomers were lucky.
1
Massachusetts
1
@kered13 70’s NYC was also a cesspool. Crime and dirtyness. A Baby Boomer friend told me NYC was completely out of power for a brief period in 1977. The criminals and looters went outside and stole what they could from the stores while they vandalized.
1
Brick & Mortar, Mom & Pop stores.
1
@ML-jk3sz Go Red.
1
@silverstocker5992 Where did you think ESG came from?
1
Everywhere from Albany to NYC to Upstate I hear the same responses. You want an East Coast version of California? New York is your answer.
1
It’s sheer corruption. NYC is a place for thugs. Real, honest people get punished.
