  1. There must be something I'm missing. 0:30 - How does the PhD get her $140K forgiven, or, how much could really be left on it if she's been paying for 2 decades? Then, 1:10 - they get their loan forgiven if they borrowed $12K or less, and have been paying for 10 or more years? Again, how much could possibly be left on these loans if they borrowed less than $12,000, and they've been paying for 10+ years? Why did they talk about $140K, then switch to less than $12K?

  4. Tell me about it!! I used to donate about $10K per year to scholarship programs. Why would I want to do that, if the government is just going to make my donations obsolete, and tax me heavier to go pay off loans that I didn't pick and choose myself?

  6. Well, right out of the gate, I agree with you. I would have a difficult time convicting Baldwin. But, there is a slight difference between a paintball gun and a real gun. There'd be absolutely zero expectation that a paintball gun would ever have any kind of fatal round in it. But, for a real gun, it's a possibility that it has a real round in it. So, the manslaughter charge applies to the concept that he was negligent in not taking proper precautions, and never pointing the gun at anybody. Manslaughter doesn't require intent. It means someone was merely not taking the cautions that they should have been taking. Again, I don't want to sound argumentative, because I think I'd probably not convict him either. But, you asked a question, and I wanted to provide an answer.
