  7. If they actually ate the whole shark, maybe then there'd be some sort of justification (at least more justification than there is now). But, no. They kill the entire shark just to eat the fins.

  8. I think you probably have the species confused. Not only is it pretty well known in diving circles that there aren't any great whites in captivity (at least not for more than a few days), but I just checked the website, and they don't even claim to have any great whites in captivity. They talk about the great whites in the context of diving with them out in a cage in the ocean, not in their own aquarium. (Added edit): but there's no shortage of people who confuse the species. If you google it, there are a bunch of pictures posted by people claiming that there are great whites in the aquarium in Capetown, but they don't know what a real great white looks like, because those sure aren't great whites.

And, now you're insisting that when people are in their 80s, that means that somehow they should reject all medical technology, when that's when they need it the most? Oh, and side note: medical technology is probably what got them into their 80s in the first place, because before modern medical technology, the average life expectancy of humans was about 25-30 years. Not only is it pretty well known in diving circles that there aren't any great whites in captivity (well, not for very long anyway), but the Melbourne aquarium's website doesn't even mention having a single great white in captivity (which would be a huge deal if they did). I think you probably got the great white confused for a different shark.
