What a load of misinformation. The emissions requirements didn't change every year, and weren't the cause of the 1983 Corvette delays. And, there has never been an emissions law that "changes at the last minute." Every auto maker on the planet would sue the living daylights out of every emissions board in the country if that was the case. All emissions laws are passed with years of ramp-up time to give auto manufacturers a chance to comply. So, your statements are pure gibberish. As a matter of fact, the 1984 Corvette ended up with the exact same emissions as the 1982, thus completely disproving your assertion.
The real reason for the 1983 issue was that they had to work out some technical glitches with the production of the 1983, and, by the time they got everything going, they just decided to release the "1984" in MARCH of 1983, but calling it a 1984 (thus skipping 1983). They ran the 1982 production long, and started the 1984 production VERY early. It's as simple as that. Don't pretend you're "educating" anybody when you don't know anything about the topic.
Yes, they had 43 test mules, but, that's normal, and is irrelevant to everything else you [incorrectly] stated.
