  1. Jim Smyth (the "bad cop" investigator) appears to be able to play either roles. He was the very kind and mild mannered "good cop" in the world famous interrogation of Colonel Russell Williams, getting Williams to confess to the murders, and even had Williams so pacified/comfortable that Williams said that the only person he wanted to deal with was Smyth. And, here, Smyth is the "bad cop" that Rafferty wants nothing to do with.

  2. She tells a story with a million holes, of course. But, for whatever the reason, the hole that really makes me shake my head is the part about how she's very afraid of Travis because he's so abusive, yet, she chose to move hundreds of miles to live a couple of blocks away from him.

  3. I hope that I will never have to experience what that dad experienced. If my son, someday in the future, murders his family, however, I really don't even know how I would deal with it. As rationally as my mind operates every single day, I really don't know how my mind would deal with such a concept about my son. I want to say that I would/could be rational, and would accept reality. But, I've seen too many parents that are completely delusional when it comes to their sons/daughters, and will never accept that the son/daughter could ever do something wrong. Yeah, I agree, his dad is a piece of shit for putting ideas into his son's head to tell police. But, I don't know... maybe that's what every dad would do, even if just for the first day or something, if this kind of bombshell gets dropped... at least until the shellshock wears off.
