Why not a Taser? Because they had been chasing this man for a while that day. He kidnapped two women. Then, the police were chasing him. He fled to a storefront, where he held some people there (seemed like a hostage situation). He fled from there, got on this bus, where the police followed/chased him again. And it seemed like another hostage situation, because they saw the bus being evacuated, and the bus driver calling for help from that guy. It's perfectly normal for the police to be concerned that he had a firearm. As it turns out, he didn't. But, the cops did the right thing by drawing a firearm in that circumstance. But, the most tell-tale sign of your warped attitude is that you came to your conclusion first, then asked questions second. Bravo.

@aggiesoldier Not that I blindly trust anybody on YouTube who makes this kind of claim. But, if you are really the officer in this video, please know that you have another person on your side. When running down a guy who had just carjacked/kidnapped two women, and then watching a bus get evacuated and the driver calling for help, you're darned right, go in with your gun drawn. You don't know if that guy has a gun. He didn't in this case. But, with no way to know that, you're totally justified. My opinion might mean nothing to you (nor should it, I guess), and I am not 100% just blindly trusting you are who you say you are. But, if you are, you have one more supporter on your side of the fence. And, it's a travesty that soooooo many armchair quarterbacks pretend to know things they don't know, and condemn you because of their own ignorance.

More armchair quarterbacks with absolutely no understanding of the situation. Do you think those two cops that went inside the bus, and several more cops outside, just so happened to be at that bus stop randomly? Do you REALLY think cops just randomly jump on busses with guns drawn? Or, hmmmm, can you fathom the notion that maybe... just maybe... there's more going on than meets the eye? Is that beyond your mental capacity to understand?
This man had just carjacked and kidnapped two women. The cops were chasing him because of that. He fled to a storefront, where he appeared to take people hostage inside of the office. He then fled again onto this bus. That's why he was desperate to have the driver keep going without stopping. The police chased/followed the bus, which is why they were all there as soon as the bus stopped. Then, the cops saw the bus getting evacuated in a hurry, and the bus driver calling for help. So, spare the world your ridiculous opinions. Usually, people like that are armed. This man wasn't. But, more often than not, someone like that is armed and dangerous, and the correct thing to do is draw your firearm. Not doing so is the wrong course of action, and could result in officers getting killed instead of the bad guys.
