  3. I started doing what I loved doing as a hobby and it grew into a good highly profitable business that has never felt like work. My work is fun, my customer bases are awesome and my growing friends base is full of amazing people. The problem is it brought out massive jealousy in my family (narcissistic parent and useful step idiot) and so far everything I make from my work just goes to endless legal battles with them as they try every way they can to take it and my lifes work from me because they feel that being my family entitles them to control me and my life and if they can't have that, I should have nothing ever again. What I do and love is now more just a means to an end to pay lawyers to keep my family at bay one more day due to how useless and or just broken and corrupt our law enforcement, legal and regulatory agency systems have proven to be. Not the lessons I wanted to learn from any of this.

I work in the recycling industry and it makes me angry to see how so many say they are for it yet do nothing or just make things worse through willful ignorance/being useful id i ots for the cause. It's all about fake feel-goods and not about looking at things rationally and logically to see what actually needs work or change or can be improved in some tangible realistic and needed way that will actually do something real and positive in the long run.

The problem with success is that the harder you work towards your goals the harder certain people around you work to tear everything you do down just to make sure you never go any further than you do. Crabs in a bucket. They don't love life, they just hate everyone who they perceive to be doing anything better than they are. If they cant see themselves as being at the top, everyone gets forced to stay at the bottom.

  9.  @dot_t  For me it was my dad. A friend of mine helped me start a business and it became successful almost immediately. He could not have that and thus dragged me through court for 2 plus years on a nonsocial frivolous lawsuit because he couldn't control it or decide who would be my friends. I'm almost 50 years old, I think I can decide what I do with my life and who I can be friends with just fine on my own.

PTSD, anxiety. depression and the like come from the negatives of life having taken things way past the point of positive recovery too many times. That which does not kill you often maims and cripples you too badly to fully recover from. You are not dead but you can't live life to the fullest, or even the most basic, anymore either.
