two vehicles that didn't sell well because they were largely useless due to their designs.

Also someone who has never used a pickup truck for its designed applications. That back end makes it useless for much of what any common full sized box pickup truck of any size and rating is used for, hauling large items in the back.

@steamcarecc Look at the sides and over all rear design. They are horrible for doing normal side loading/unloading plus the truck appears to have a unibody design which means it not directly adaptable to service box type applications any common contractor needs a pickup to do. Beyond that is real world charging times and conveniences. Compared to a IC powered vehicle that can be refueling ~ 5 minutes from any of some 200K gas stations in the US or from any common fuel can or portable fuel tank systems anywhere too, and go 250 - 300+ miles even at its maximum rated towing capacity, these things have a at best ~1 hour recharge time, to ~ 80% (at only ~ 14 K charging points nationwide) which makes them impractical for much of the applications outside the niche city dweller status symbol stuff. Sure, you can charge it at home, slower (with a rather expensive to buy and install home charge station), but I can also fuel up my IC engine powered stuff at home too off my cheap to own bulk fuel tanks in litteral minutes, so no selling point to me there either.

@MrMasterOdin But neither held long term appeal to ever get very far. Delorina never topped 9K built for its whole run. The el camino did better but still died out in the mid 80's with zero look back on it after a not too bad ~ 22 year run despite not caring all that big of market share the whole while either. Top sales were around ~ 1977 -79 with ~ 60 - 65K sold per year out of some ~ 11 - 13 million vehicles sold for all others during each of those years as well. I will be very surprised if these tesla pickups top 100 - 150K per year in the now 17.3+ MILLION per year total new vehicle sales market.
