@mrsqueakthecat.8061 I too grew up in rural America back in the day where these sort of old trucks were still in use and I agree that the few I ever saw in a crash survived fairly well despite having minimal safely features simply because they were slow and built like a tank compared to most common cars. At 60+MPH they were death on wheels but in their <40 MPH range they were in their designed ellement and had raw mass and rigidity in their favor. Bricks Vs pop cans as it were.
