  6.  @galenschultz3239  That was my issue growing up Not all adults lie but a certain few are so over the top they ruin it for everyone else. By the time I was in 3rd grade, I had figured out the difference between inaccurate recall of information (normal not lying.) and deliberate denial of things that happened, (Open and willful lying for the sake of deception or manipulation.)

  9. @ I don't think that everyone lies deliberately. Many of us go above and beyond to be as accurate and truthful as possible. The problem is that at some point the amount of details have to be trimmed down simply for efficiency/relevancy of communications sake. Same with rules. Some rules are stupid and need to be ignored. Others are valid most of the time but have exception points. As for religion God lies and breaks more rules than all of us combined, but that's pretty much what makes high-level narcissists what they are.

  14. I have become extremely detail-orientated when it comes to dealing with certain people or types of people due to how those types will lie to anyone any way they can, of which lying by the omission/transposition of detail is one of the top things they do.

  19. @ In theory yes that works. But in reality, some parents/people in authority get so carried away with the punishments that they ruin things, not make them better. I grew up spending around 4 to 9+ month of the year grounded from everything for things that were either never real or that were outside of my control.
