  1. There r multiple Hindu calendars based on region East South & North West. Some starts from 16th April as new year. It's called Baishakhi in East & Onam in south.

  2. ​ @SaurabhGupta-sn4yv  100 million Bengali Hindu exists. Besides South Hindus also has onam & Punjab also has baishakhi as Hindu new year. Only north west India follows this calendar. South East India doesn't.
