japan's downfall is the fact that idiots in the army would just invade whatever area they wanted, then somehow expected the whole government to back them up, this resulted in japan invaded far more nations than originally intented and destroying potential alliances, also japan was basically in civil war. the imperial japanese army and imperial japanese navy both hated each other, and it was the army's decision to attack china while the navy disagreed. since the central government sided with the navy. the army invaded china on its own.
