lol the russians were cowards who literally did nothing during the war against japan and took the opportunity to invade after japan lost their entire navy to the americans in some of the most brutal battles in ww2, stalingrad was overrated, the island hoping operations cost 3 times the total of lives in total, and japan at the time was already fighting 34 other nations at once.

@Acoustrics their military is larger than italy and a few of the nordic countries, the whole no military thing is just wordplay, since 1950 the treaty has already been altered that they could have any military unit as long as its "self defense"

@felipea1399 whos the common denominator here? a country that has border disputes and regularly invades neighboring countries, for over 900 years straight without stop, or a country that has been at peace for over 80 years, and has only literally had two outside invasions of territory in its history of isolationism of over 1000 years.

@snensnmt china would have became like taiwan then, and ccp would have literally never took power, taiwan or formossa at the time, WAS and is a japanese colony, you can even see the japanese influence of taiwan now, if japan attacked north, main land china would be like taiwan and it would be japans australia, where they sent the criminals at first, but years later it would just evolve into an asian australia, with a mix of taiwan

i never understood why japan didn't attack the soviets with germany after hitler broke the pack, did the generals not think that the pact was just a bait to let the soviet's guard down?

@ABC-ABC1234 yeah and what people don't realize, it was the USA that pushed for extremely draconian drug laws, and porn censorship in japan (this was still the prohibition era americans were puritanists at the time) also the americans were the ones who wiped out all the history of japan, so the whole "denying of the warcrimes" shit never existed, it was the americans who erased all records of it not the japanese, this was because they needed the japanese not to be demoralized to assist in the korean war etc, and they also repaid a ton of times, especially the older generation. and also the communist party of china literally thanked japan after the war for allowing them to take power, but only recently they pretend to have suffered in ww2(they didn't even fight the japanese at all, it was the republic of china that did)

and before some moron mentions the stupid Khalkhin Gol shit, the russians had 4000+ extra heavy armored infantry, 400 more aircraft, 1000 more tanks and over 100,000 extra men, while the japanese only had 30,000 men total very few lighttanks and they basically fought on horse back. while the russians were heavyly armed. yet the japanese still inflicted about %500 times the casualties against the russians while suffering very little damage, also at the time russia was literally allied with germany meaning they put all their forces on the eastern front while japans entire force was fighting the americans so the only ones at Khalkhin Gol were inexperienced scouts.

@davidhuang2895 are you stupid? look up the casualties and combatants again. the soviets literally had %5000 casualty rate of japanese, the soviets literally ran at them in numbers while the japanese mowed them down, they only retreated cuz they ran out of bullets, i love how people keep bringing down Khalkin gol, like americans got defeated at vietnam, in this case even the veitcong put up more of a fight, japan left because of diplomacy issues

the axis would have won ww2 if this happened actually, so it would be like the man in the high castle. remember, germany only lost due to reinforcements by their elite soldiers and generals who were sent to the far east, if they never returned and even needed reinforcements then the germans would have destroyed moscow and russia would cease as a nation from this two pronged attack

@prs_81 the actually had the largest navy in the world at the time, even bigger than the royal navy, they had the most air craft carriers at the start of the war

@covfefe1787 lol are you joking? japan has a military, any idiot could see that, the whole "no military thing" was scraped literally in fucking 1950 the second china turned communist, its the same reason why japan didn't get the same punishment as germany after ww2, the americans needed allies in the EAST fast and very fast, so they basically rescinded the whole not having military thing, and they call it a defense force, but its all but in name. also japan, korean, canada, australia, and a lot of first world countries could literally build nukes anytime if they wanted to, its just that its not worth it diplomaticly and politically
