  9.  @hazzmati  the reason why the imperial japanese army did a lot of fucked up stuff, was because all of their men were CONSCRIPTED. and all of the elite and professional soldiers already was part of the imperial japanese navy, because of this, the army literally had to recruit and accept deathrow or criminal inmates as their soldiers, this resulted in them being extremely rowdy and uncontrolable, in fact the high command in tokyo literally just gave up trying to control them, a lot of these men literally did whatever they wanted, and often times would randomly invade a country or city and expect the country to back them up, these morons destroyed the reputation of japanese soldiers. the only smart thing the army did was plan an attack up north on russia, in hind sight this was very good because that area had a huge amount of oil.
