  1. I think all the outsourcing and H1Bs have affected the industry. Consulting used to be experts and they took 100% accountability, but in the last 10+ yrs, i think the heavy influence of Indians who are culturally brought up to never say no or disagree, and esp not to take blame (lest they get fired and sent home), have normalized this kind of avoidance. Then with the shift away from FT employment to more 1099s just taught the current gen of young devs to be more sheepish.
