  1. I think both public and private media are necessary to offset their inherit conflict of interests, namely they will always be pressured to protect their funding. So public media will be charitable toward the administration while private media will be critical, and vice versa. I think the consolidation of US media has allowed the scrutiny of govt and corps have massively fallen off and I wouldn't be surprised if Trump and Musk consider our public media (PBS) a waste of money in the social media age, and will further reduce funding.
