@AurumLuxuria where you live matters. ppl in the ghetto or in generational poverty in the sticks might have a different perspective

@JaylaStarr they need a stable home life and a lot of attention, which can be difficult to provide if you're an average worker.

Please consider mentoring foster kids. You don't have foster or adopt, but you know how lonely it can be. There are lots of ways you can help them without comitting to take them in

I grew up around Mormons and there was NO time for the youngest kids. They were raised by the older kids bc the parents are too busy trying to feed and clothe so many kids. The mother and oldest girl were exhausted and did not get any private time with a baby always hanging on them. The oldest kids had to get jobs asap, and left to mission ASAP. It must be so nice to finally sleep in quiet, get enough to eat, and make friends, she be valued for who you are not what chores you do

@SimoneandMalcolm if woman are too choosy wouldn't cultures that aren't as materialistic, like germanic/nordic countries, should not have as steep of drop off yet they do. I think it also drops with individualism. Poorer counties live in a village, so kids are communal, but in "modern" culure each family is soley responsible. And that's a bigger burden. Esp in the US where it might be ONE parent on their own age paying for everything. I will have to rewatch to see if you addressed this nuance.

 @pax6833 they are. Living on commissions is very hard, esp in the beginning.
