  1. Impeachment is a political process not legal. If the democrats wanted more witnesses they could have called them in the house which they control. They didn’t. Neither did they allow the minority to call any witnesses.

  3. Why? The democrats wouldn’t allow republicans to call witnesses? Besides they are all in record saying that the case for impeachment was overwhelming. If it’s so overwhelming why do you need more witnesses? It’s the houses job to make the case to the senate.

  4. Jamie Murray in America there are three co equal branches of government. Subpoenas don’t have to be complied with. When there is a dispute between the executive branch and the legislative branch the judicial branch decides. The house chose not to even try because they wanted impeachment before Christmas. So it’s nothing to do with witnesses. If it was they would have called them already. If you think as the democrats do that the case for impeachment was overwhelming then why do they need more witnesses? It can’t be both overwhelming and inadequate at the same time! Perhaps you should agree with Schumer and Schiff who argued against witnesses in the Clinton impeachment. This isn’t going anywhere it’s a joke. Meanwhile the President is signing trade deals and the stock market is soaring.

  5. The democrats control the house and they called their witnesses. If they wanted more they should have called them. Now it’s the senates turn. If the case was so “Overwhelming” in the House then why do the democrats want more witnesses? Also the BBC “Forgot” to mention that the senate is using the same rules used in the Clinton impeachment which were agreed by all 100 senators.

  6. Awkward Bean if it’s clear he abused his powers and the house voted to impeach him because of the overwhelming evidence they presented then why do they need more witnesses? Or did they vote yo impeach without enough evidence? Pick one. You can’t have both.

If the dems wanted the truth then why didn’t they call all the witnesses they wanted during the impeachment in the house? (The democrat controlled house) If they wanted the truth then why didn’t the democrats allow the minority to call witnesses?
