  5. Pink Crayon lots of countries don’t. Mexico, Australia, England don’t either but we know what language is the mother tongue. It’s not in the constitution but the constitution is written in....English. In America we speak English and if you are unsure about that try getting a decent job without it. This guy has been here a very long time and hasn’t bothered. No sympathy.

  7. Pink Crayon I lived in Germany as a young man and learnt German. I did that by speaking it and not English. I had a choice and I made it. People that come here have that same choice. The video above shows his TV on in Spanish not English! Feckless is accurate and I’m not sympathetic to his plight for that reason.

  13. Skorpi00007 this video is clearly meant to generate sympathy. It doesn’t as the individual can’t speak English well enough to be interviewed in English. Despite living here for AT LEAST 17 years! We are without question an English speaking nation. It’s noteworthy that his employer wrote to him in....English! Denying the obvious is excusing his lack of respect for his host country.

Perhaps they could have found someone that could be bothered to learn English after 17 years to interview if sympathy was their goal. I’m not sympathetic as no doubt his job prospects would be a lot better if he had made an effort to learn the language.
