  1. Ingo Zachos the Scots voted to remain in the union. If they left the union and wanted to join the EU they would be treated even worse than the UK. They know that and without English taxpayer support their economy would collapse. Their social programs would end. We voted to leave the EU by 1.3 million votes. Quite a big democratic margin.

  2. Ingo Zachos the only home nation with a significant desire to leave the union is Scotland. It just voted to remain....again. That’s democracy. As to the EU the “Right to leave” you quote is from the Lisbon treaty otherwise known as the EU constitution. The same constitution that was resoundingly rejected by two of the founding EU nations Netherlands and France. Of course these two referendums were ignored and the EU simply rebranded it a treaty. The man that wrote it even admitted it! If the EU is a democracy then please explain how your MEP can’t enact legislation? Please explain how many votes the EU president got from his electorate?

  4. Ingo Zachos fair and free elections!!!! By who? Not voters! There are three EU presidents. Again you haven’t explained why your MEP can’t enact legislation. How is that democracy? When the constitution was rejected how was it it democratic that it was repackaged as a treaty and implemented anyway? You can be pro EU all you like but it’s not a democracy and having a rubber stamp parliament and useless MEPs and unelected Presidents are just the illusion of democracy. You can’t have a democratic EU as there is no people of Europe. There is no European demos. (People) A Frenchman is not a Scot is not a Bulgarian.

  9. Ingo Zachos that’s nonsense. They wouldn’t get the UN Security Council seat. They would have to apply for EU membership and would get a worse deal than the UK.

  10. Ingo Zachos if Scotland had voted to leave. The Rest of the UK would keep the UN seat. Why would little Scotland get it? China isn’t even on the security council. The EU has stated if Scotland voted to leave the UK it would have to apply for EU membership.

  12. Ingo Zachos I was bring facetious. 1707. Along with your dates you have also forgotten my country which did rather well against England on Saturday (Rugby) Again the EU would not allow Scotland into it without following their procedure. This was made clear during the Scottish referendum.
