  1. Thank you for making this video. The teachers unions are some of the worst offenders. They scream about better pay and pensions knowing full well that the children they teach will struggle to pay for their retirement.

  2. Copperhead Sutton I hear the same thing where I live. It’s simply not true though. However I researched their average pay in our ISD and it’s $68,000 which isn’t bad considering they don’t work for most of the school vacations. 99% of the teachers I know provide a second income or are unmarried women. Teaching is perfect for Moms because of the vacation times.

  3. Jaye-Andrea Arp if that were true you couldn’t recruit. The fact is class sizes have gone down and there are more teachers than jobs. Comparing public sector jobs is unrealistic. Compare with private sector teachers and they are overpaid. Also teachers pensions are the point of the video! They aren’t funded with real money so when teachers say they pay into their pensions they aren’t being honest with themselves OR their students who will be saddled with the massive debt.

  4. Jaye-Andrea They are not fully funded. The video explains that. I live in Texas and what teachers pay in isn’t real money. It’s make believe. These are massive unfunded liabilities. The children in schools today are going to have to do without in the future to fund their teachers retirements. You see the deduction but the fund is not fully funded. It’s make believe money funded by future taxation.
