  1.  @abrakkehakka1357  I’m not saying we couldn’t win today. I am saying it’s getting less likely every day and logistically China is in a very strong position to attack Taiwan and we are in a very bad position logistically to help defend it. The numbers of planes we have or they have is not as relevant as our ability to operate and sustain them in theater. Our two sixth generation fighter programs (navy and Air Force) both require much much longer flight radius’s as Chinas missile capabilities are pushing our carriers further and further away. China would win the air war against Taiwan almost immediately. Then it could blockade the island quite effectively. It would not be like Ukraine where we could supply them with relative ease. Taiwan would be fighting with what it already has.

  2. China is next to Taiwan it doesn’t need navy planes to take Taiwan. We could only use a fraction of our planes to defend Taiwan.

  6.  @sebcw1204  Wiki states 2825 compared 2623 the PLA has 200 more planes in its Air Force. I don’t know if that includes their army or naval air wing. So it could be an under estimate. Also they are building new planes much faster than us.

  7.  @sebcw1204  we still have the edge in quality. However the theater of Taiwan is becoming less defensible every day. Mainly due to logistics and Chinas military growth. This report is incredibly optimistic at best and I would say shortsighted. Binkov does some fun videos on YouTube about this topic.

  8.  @javiervalenzuela8284  projecting air power from your own mainland is a lot easier than from a few aircraft carriers and a few distant islands. China has a huge advantage in the air. Attacking the island from the sea is their obstacle.

  9. The PLA has the second largest Air Force not third and it is growing at a fast rate. This report is hopelessly optimistic.
