Firstly the number of mass shootings is grossly exaggerated on purpose. Secondly semi automatic rifles are rarely used. Thirdly universal gun background checks only works with a gun registry. That’s what the government needs to implement confiscation.

@leagarner3675 define a mass shooting. 4 or more killed not including the gunman. More people are killed with blunt objects than all rifles and shotguns combined. Prove me wrong.

@leagarner3675 45,000 a year. 30,000 are suicides. So 15,000 from gun violence. Most of those are drug or gang related. Criminals don’t obey laws so banning guns won’t change that. All that banning guns would do is make more victims.

Should the government force us to have insurance on the first amendment? “Shall not be infringed” so insurance would not pass the constitutional test. So are you advocating a change in the constitution? At to age limits they already exist. As to “Military style assault rifles” I assume you mean semi automatic rifles. Yes they look like the military versions but I own both an AK and an AR neither are full auto so they are not military spec. Banning guns that are used in very very few deaths won’t change anything either. Handguns would need to be banned to make a dent in the numbers. Of course banning handguns would never pass in law as it’s against the second amendment. So you are back again to changing the constitution. Again not likely. How about we enforce the existing laws? Instead of letting criminals out early keep them in prison. Criminals that break gun laws like lying on your background check form should be punished. Hunter Biden did that. Up to 10 years and a $250,000 fine. He also dumped the gun in a trash can next to a school. Again no charges! Biden wants to be tough on gun owners just not when it’s his own son.

@leagarner3675 a “Buy back” is confiscation. The government never owned the gun. 400 million guns in the US how will confiscation work? It would be a bloodbath.
