Comments by "Billy Bob" (@davidrobertsemail) on "'We've made a mistake': Bodycam shows police draw guns on family during traffic stop" video.
All about compensation. They knew they were on camera.

It’s always about the money. It was a typo!
2
That child was bigger than lots of adults.
2
A typo. Police are human. Family just needed to follow instructions.
1
@doctorjames7454 I know how to react to police officers giving instructions. I would not react like this family.
1
@doctorjames7454 they were slow to follow instructions at the start of the video. Don’t watch a clip watch the whole thing. Once officers realized their error they were very apologetic and considerate. Again watch the whole video. As always follow instructions, don’t argue and nobody will get hurt.
1
@Angelicaa19 the child looked older. You understand this was an error right? This is how they do high risk stops for everyone.
1
@thedudeplayingthedudedisgu1654 I think this was an honest mistake. Millions of police stops every year. Millions. Police are human and this was a typo on the state registration.
1
@puffena9013 police have a right to go home to their families. Do you disagree? Apart from the original registration mistake misidentifying the vehicle what did they do wrong? Please be specific.
1
@puffena9013 so you think police can’t make mistakes. They aren’t human. Well they are human they do make mistakes and as far as we know right now the only mistake was a single letter off a car tag. Now please be specific apart from that single mistake what did they do wrong on the nigh risk stop? Nothing. You couldn’t answer because they did nothing wrong. Police are human beings and they make millions of stops every year. Uneventful stops. This one letter mistake identified a stolen car the same make, model and color this family was driving. Hence the police actions. As soon as they realized they apologized. Awful but an understandable mistake…..unless you hate the police.
1
@puffena9013 you aren’t rational you just hate the police.
1
@ahmorgan I’m not defending their mistake. I am defending them against the accusation that this was racial or malicious in any way. They followed procedure for a high risk traffic stop until they realized their mistake. Then they were calm, apologetic and compassionate towards the family. Watch the whole video not the medias edited clip.
1
@ricocampbell5972 who said cops don’t know that? Of course they have a dangerous job. Everyone knows that. That means they are trained to protect themselves and others. The procedures for a high risk traffic stop exist to protect them and the people they are stopping. Slow, precise and deliberate instructions and actions. Apart from the very human typo mistake what did they do wrong? Please be specific.
1
@ricocampbell5972 they followed procedure for a high risk traffic stop. If your son was a cop would you want him to follow the correct procedure?
1
@ricocampbell5972 why is race relevant? The procedure for a high risk traffic stop is the same irrespective of sex, age or skin color. Are you saying cops shouldn’t have a procedure for a high risk traffic stop? Don’t you think they should follow their training? Cops make millions of stops like this every year. Millions. When a black cop does it to a white family does it make the news? No it doesn’t. Ask yourself why the media covers one story and not the other. The whole unedited video is available. I’ve watched it. Have you?
1
@Matty272 I agree they made a mistake. My point is conflating the mistake made with their actions, specifically the procedure for a high risk traffic stop. The mistake was a one in a million. The procedure that they followed should not be criticized or misunderstood. Have you watched the whole unedited video? I have. As soon as the mistake was realized they holstered their guns and were apologetic, kind and sympathetic to the family. Millions if traffic stops happen every year. This was a one in a million.

@Sevenfold120 you haven’t read anything I have written. Bother to read before commenting.
1
@winchestersons6258 did you watch the video? It was a typo. They thought it was a high risk traffic stop. If the family reacted calmly and followed instructions it wouldn’t be news.
1
@bihsaidwhatnow2392 they all have body cameras as do the vehicles. If this mistake happened to my family they wouldn’t behave like this.
1
@winchestersons6258 it was a traffic stop on video. They have already released the video. It was a typo. You think the police should be vilified for a typo?
1
@winchestersons6258 from the details available the only mistake was a typo. The officers appear to have acted appropriately for a high risk traffic stop. Remember they believed this was a high risk stop.
1
@videogirlzzzzzz they conducted a high risk traffic stop as per policy and procedure. That’s their training. People shoot police officers all the time they have procedures like this to keep them safe. The mistake was a typo. Not the procedure. Conflating the two is wrong.
1
@JoeCool0510 I agree. This has never happened to me. However conflating an innocent mistake with the police procedures fir a high risk traffic stop is wrong. Police have a right to go home to their families. The Dad is a concealed carry holder so he has had training on how to behave when police stop you driving.

Racist comment.

They want compensation. They know they are on camera. The mistake was a typo. Police are human.
