@janeta3509 Doctors have high prestige and high income within the flawed Western power structure, and place high trust in medical authority, since their livelihoods are derived from mastery of its dictates. Also, even in the highly intelligent and the highly educated, ideological commitment can override willingness to exercise intelligence when such exercise might challenge the ideology to which the person is committed, and threaten the person’s identity and livelihood.
