  1. The Delta jet was on the final approach and at approach speed to land. Banking sharply can cause the jet to stall at that low altitude and slow speed. The Delta pilots showed their extreme flying skills in the moment of crisis. Planes stalled during landing when they banked too sharply and didn’t have the altitude to recover from the stall. The big issue is if the DOGE FAA layoffs affected the flyover by approving it without checking the flight patterns of commercial airline landing at the conflict flight area at the time of the flyover due to reduced personnel and not issuing a NOTAM.

  2. Air Traffic Control (ATC) and the airport control tower operate on different frequencies. ATC controls flights inbound and outbound. ATC would tell the jet to switch over to tower frequency to get final landing approval. If the B-52 contacted the airport control tower and the Delta hadn’t contacted the tower, it couldn’t have warned the B-52 of the Delta jet. Since the airport didn’t have a radar, the tower could have assumed they were clear of each other flying VFR and didn’t have to warn the Delta jet.
