People keep bring up the mortality rate for Covid 19. The mortality rate for Ebola was 90%. Ebola was mainly transmitted by blood. The Ebola outbreak lasted from March 2014 to June 2016. Most people affected by the outbreak were in Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. There were also cases reported in Nigeria, Mali, Europe, and the U.S. had about 28,616 people who were suspected or confirmed to be infected; 11,310 people died worldwide.
Covid 19 is easier to spread than any previous virus. It’s true that most Covid 19 patients can recover without having to stay in the ICU, but the ones who can’t, uses a lot of medical resources for treatment. Medical facilities are going bankrupt and shutting down because patients who recover after a prolong stay in the ICU are unable to pay the medical costs of their recovery since most of them are out of work. Other non-Covid 19 patients who require urgent medical care are put at risk, since their injury or illness won’t put other people at risk and will be given less medical care.
No other virus we had encountered had basically shutdown the whole world.
